Get ready for the most exciting event in East Lansing! Join us for the 1st Annual Deke Ducky Derby on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 from 1pm-5pm as we drop 1,000 rubber ducks into the Red Cedar River! The Duck Drop will be at 3pm. Cheer your duck to victory as they race to the finish line!
The best part: your duck purchase benefits the Flint Child Health and Development Fund - Community Foundation of Greater Flint. The Flint Child Health & Development Fund was established on January 11, 2016 by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha of Hurley Medical Center and Michigan State University, recognizing that significant change is needed to ensure the health of Flint families, especially children aged 0-6. The Community Foundation of Greater Flint’s mission is to serve the common good in Genesee County - to build a strong community by engaging people in philanthropy and developing the community’s permanent endowment – now and for generations to come.
Admission to the event is FREE or adopt a duck for $5. You’ll have the opportunity to decorate your duck and have a chance to win fantastic prizes including A SIGNED MILES BRIDGES JERSEY as well as gift certificates from local businesses all depending on where your duck finishes. This philanthropic outreach is one of the many pillars that make up a Deke.
