Delivering Love to Standing Rock
Organized by: Dex Hoxworth
The Dakota Access Pipeline is a disgrace to the environment and the Indigenous people who have long suffered at the hand of government and corporate greed. The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe are standing up for their rights, the rights of their fellow man and the respect we owe to Mother Earth. Their movement against the pipeline is one of heart, but the protestors are also risking their well-being to be on-site for this crucial stand against the destruction of the environment and their sacred cultural sites. The Standing Rock Sioux and the dedicated activists protesting alongside them are committed to camp on site of the pipeline construction through the winter, and they need our help! From winter jackets, tents, sleeping bags, medical supplies and more, each of us can make meaningful contributions from our own communities. We have a full list of requested supplies and will be collecting them locally in the Atlanta area and “Delivering Love to Standing Rock” the first week of October. This fundraiser has been created to support the journey to North Dakota, and all funds collected beyond the cost of gas to make the trip will be used to purchase requested supplies and Visa gift cards (which are also on their list). Whether you’re in Atlanta or anywhere else on this beautiful planet YOU can help us Deliver Love to Standing Rock!
