BENEFITING: MOUNT MARY UNIVERSITY INC
EVENT DATE: Apr 29, 2015
Wednesday, April 29th is internationally recognized Denim Day, a day designated to raise awareness and build support for sexual assault survivors. Organizations across the globe are partnering with service providers, survivors, and their supporters to honor those affected by sexual assault and call attention to the dangers of victim blaming. On April 29th, the Counseling and Student Engagement office are asking all students, staff, and faculty to wear jeans in support of sexual assault prevention and survivor support. We are asking that those showing support for this cause by wearing jeans also donate a monetary gift to the LOTUS legal clinic here on campus. http://mtmary.edu/majors-programs/undergraduate/justice/lotus.html LOTUS Legal Clinic is supported by the Mount Mary University Justice Department and provides assistance to clients with legal matters that arise in relation to their status as victims of crime. Mount Mary employees should consult with their supervisors about participating in this event.
