Hey everyone! So my 21st Birthday is coming up, and I wanted to do something a little unique for it. I work with a non-profit called the Harambee Foundation, which was founded by members of the UCCS track and cross country team. The mission of the Harambee Foundation is to lift children in the community of Kaptagat, Kenya out of poverty by increasing their educational opportunities. Unlike in the US, in order to go to high school in Kenya, kids not only have to take an entrance exam, but they also have to pay a yearly fee of between $500 and $800. Many bright kids who are able to pass the entrance exam are unable to afford this fee, and so high school is not an option for them. So, instead of giving me gifts or alcohol (because I don't drink), it would be awesome for that money to go towards helping others. Hopefully you guys can support me in anyway you can. Even a little bit helps!
