Desiree's Emergency Clinic Trip for Syrian Refugees
Organized by: Desiree Ortuno
Hello everyone! Within the past few days I made the decision to travel alone to provide emergency healthcare relief to about 2,000 Syrian and Afghan refugees in Oinoftya, Greece. I have prayed about it to see if this is something that God wanted me to do and I feel this issue is pressing on my heart to go. I am a registered nurse and I feel that it is time to put my degree that I worked so hard for to use. I will be working with a Seventh-day Adventist medical evangelism organization called AMEN ministries. Because these refugees are not able to go anywhere else for medical treatment there is an urgent need for us to go to them. There is a huge demand for dental, vision, and medical professionals to help care for and treat these people. The clinic will run Monday to Friday from the hours of 8:00am-4:00pm or longer depending on the needs of the people. Over 60,000 Syrian and Iraqi refugees are stranded in Greece with a limited access to any healthcare. Unfortunately I am low in funds and need help to get there. Any money donated will go towards my airfare, transportation, housing, and food. I know if God truly wants me to go then a way will be paved. The trip is planned for this November 6-13, yes in just a few weeks. I am ready to let God use me. I am ready to make a difference. If you could help me get there I would greatly appreciate it! Please continue to keep me in your prayers that a way may be made. Thank you!
