Dessert With Dementia

My family has cared for my mom for 15 years. She was placed into a nursing facility pending further review in January. My family has been left to figure out how to function without the presence of her laugh and smile. It's been a tough road. That was a road we were able to drive each night to join her for dessert so she could spend time with her grandsons and service dog. That ended when our vehicle broke down. I did everything I could to save up the money and I did. Unfortunately the shop had an accident that delayed our truck getting done by 8 days. In that unexpected time, we had to pay out hundreds of dollars in cab fare and uber rides. Gas money to friends and lost income for freelance jobs we had lined up. The shop doesn't seem to care and wants their payment in full before they release it back to us. We have no means at this time until we get our transportation back to make money. We haven't has desser in three weeks. My mom doesn't know what's happened as we can't communicate via phone. We just need to pay for our truck regardless of the 8 day delay damage and get back with our lives. It is critical for a person with dementia to see their loved ones regularly. She counts on that. And I can't imagine the fact that she is wondering what has happened to us. Please help us get back on the road to dessert. Thank you
