BENEFITING: THE HEIDELBERG PROJECT
The Heidelberg Project was started to call attention to the extreme blight in Detroit's neighborhoods. Starting in 1986, artist Tyree Guyton converted abandoned houses along his street into pieces of art by painting them and installing various pieces of stuff on the houses as well as up and down the street. This artwork is inspirational and once you see it you walk away invigorated! The Heidelberg Project is on the east side of Detroit and spans over two city blocks.
