MICHIGAN EDUCATION EXCELLENCE FOUNDATION's Fundraiser:

The Detroit Promise Scholarship Program

MICHIGAN EDUCATION EXCELLENCE FOUNDATION's Photo

THE STORY:

On November 28, Governor Snyder and Mayor Duggan introduced the first cohort of 260 plus Detroit Promise scholars pursuing four year degrees tuition free. They are part of the 2,000 Detroit high school graduates currently using Detroit Promise to pursue either a 2 year or 4 year college degrees. With this program, if you live in the city and graduate from any Detroit School, you can attend college tuition free.

Although the majority (62%) of jobs in Michigan will require a post-secondary education, Detroit youth are not prepared to secure a degree and these well-paying jobs. Detroit Promise was established to overcome challenges faced by these students with both financial and supportive programs that guide students through college on their path to a better future.

Join the crowd to help achieve the goal of $25 million raised through 2022 to fund Detroit Promise through the Michigan Education Excellence Foundation (MEEF) Campaign.

Set up your own CrowdRise page or link to this one on social media to encourage others to support this vital program. Join us in preparing hundreds of tomorrow’s leaders with the education and experience needed to create a better future for themselves and their community.

The Michigan Education Excellence Foundation (MEEF) is a nonprofit, philanthropic organization dedicated to supporting innovative, transformative learning for all students. Learn more at www.meefmi.org.
