BENEFITING: YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit
Detroit swims is a non-profit organization that teaches kids who can't swim, and can't afford to swim, how to swim and save themselves from the danger of drowning. This program is so important because nearly 70% of minority children can't swim and are almost 3 times more likely to drown. As a bat mitzah, I've been in the water for 13 years. I've been lucky enough to grow up in the water and have the opportunity to do water sports. I basically spend my whole summer in the water, and I want to help the kids who don't have the same opportunity. The Detroit YMCA has started this organization, and I will do anything to help and raise money for these kids, one bathing suit at a time.
