At least 1 out of every 16 adults in Uganda is living with HIV/AIDS, and this prevalence rate does not include the scores of youth and orphans under the age of 15. With the second highest birthrate on the planet, 50% of Uganda’s population is under the age of 15, and the number of these children born HIV+ is both staggering and seemingly endless. The key to stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS, a disease that is 100% preventable, is through educating the people of the world in proper prevention tactics, as well as providing clinical support for those living with the disease. This is RWEYOWA’s mission in Uganda, and with my experience and my passionate commitment to the cause, I could not be more proud to be joining them!
