BENEFITING: Innovations for Poverty Action
ORGANIZER: Evidence Action
EVENT DATE: Sep 07, 2012
Dear YGL Harvard Class of 2011,
Just over one year ago we came together in the Spring of 2011 to attend the YGL Harvard Class together. It was a special moment for many of us as that experience helped mark periods in our careers/lives and sparked many new ideas.
As some of you may know, the 2008 YGL Harvard class raised more than $100,000 to support Deworm the World, a YGL-led effort which helped the organization launch its efforts into India. Thanks to that initial foray into India, it has been impressive to see how its impact has grown – In 2011 alone, Deworm the World helped deworm more than 17 million kids in Bihar through its partnership with the government of India.
You have undoubtedly seen that we are working with the YGL Team on a Crowdfunding campaign this August and we would like to challenge our Harvard class to make an impact on the campaign. This year the organization aims to deworm another 20 million children in Bihar and they need our help.
If our class could collectively commit to contributing $10,000 (as other classes are doing), DtW would be on their way to reaching their target.
When: Soon. 31 August deadline.
Of course, we understand that your ability to give will vary with your personal circumstances. While we are personally excited about the cause, we don't want to be overly pushy either. We (and the YGL team) completely respect your privacy and decision.
Hope you are all well, thriving and that we see each other soon,
Lisa Witter and Michael Drexler
