We run Desert Rescue Animal Sanctuary in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nim came to us in May. She was almost 3 months old and in very bad condition. She was severely underweight, wormy, at risk for rickets from malnutrition and had trouble with more than very small amounts of food. Her first vet visit found her to have both Giardia and Coccidiosis, which were causing her tummy problems and keeping her from getting nutrition from her meals. Now three months later we still have not completely gotten rid of the Giardia. We took her to the vet for another round of meds on Saturday; this was when we were given far worse news. The vet pointed out a bone-like tumor near her shoulder which has shown up in the course of just two weeks. The vet suspects osteosarcoma (bone cancer), and wants to have full x-rays done then have them assessed by a canine oncologist. In all this will come to almost 300.00, and we're asking for help to get us there as quickly as possible.
