Diapers for Sacred Heart San Jose
Organized by: Elizabeth Richter
San Jose has one of the highest rate of poverty. The cost of living here is astronomical, housing is in short supply and so is employment. I recently volunteered at a wonderful organization, Sacred Heart http://sacredheartcs.org/ Where I helped carry people's food and items to their vehicle. I saw a lot of mothers with babies asking for diapers, but Sacred Heart didn't have the size they wanted which is the most popular size 3 and 4. Sacred Heart does not charge for items like Goodwill does, they give freely and sincerely to the community. As a new mother to a 13 month old, my heart broke. I know how painful it can be to pay $25 for a box of diapers, yet they are so necessary. Children are sweet and innocent and they need a lot of care. I wished many times during my volunteer time that I could give them a box of diapers. I am only asking for your help to specifically help me buy diapers at Costco so I can donate to Sacred Heart. They have me on file, they know who I am. 100% of the money raised will be placed toward the purchase of size 1-4 diapers where I will personally drop them off at Sacred Heart. You may not have the time to buy diapers and drop them off, or even know of where to start, but I can do that for you. It takes a community to help a child.
