Dia's ePatient Adventure: Taking on patient-centred design
Organized by: Dia Sue-Wah-Sing
epatient adventure mini recap
September 19, 2016
EVENT DATE Sep 10, 2016
It has been a year filled with all sorts of things, some unexpected and spectacular, some less than spectacular. I am truly thankful that I have been able to rally against a challenging year. There was a time a few years ago that I was so ill, that I wasn't a 100% sure what the next few months would bring, let alone a few years later.
This spring, I received the wonderful news that I will be attending Medicine X in September (September 12-18) as an ePatient delegate. I applied to Medicine X because I want to further develop my skills as an ePatient leader. I want to influence innovation in healthcare and patient engagement.
For those asking themselves, what is Medicine X is.... "A premier gathering of patients, providers, researchers, designers and technologists who are leading disruptive innovation in health care. A series of world-class programs, workshops and events begin on Monday and culminate on Friday with the start of Stanford Medicine X – an Everyone Included™ event and the most-discussed academic medical conference in the world." - Medicine X website http://medicinex.stanford.edu
With great opportunities, come significant costs. I have been very fortunate to receive a partial ePatient Scholarship that covers SOME costs towards, the registration fee, flights and accommodations. I will have outstanding cost for registration, flights, accommodations, food and local travel. As the Canadians can attest, the Canadian dollar has not been as strong this year, so everything is more expensive. I am grassroots minded, with deep-rooted beliefs in giving back and service towards others.
I have decided to have a fundraiser, offering my services to you! I am putting my service and crafty skills to good use. Here is how it works: For every donation level, there is a recognition and "treat”, for your generosity and contribution to help me change the face of healthcare.
