November 2016 Update
Thank you everyone for your patience!
Now that the budget is more clear for the improvements to the softball fields at Woodworth, Norwell Girls Softball has asked me to build player benches for the new fields. I am in the process of completing the paperwork and getting the new proposal approved by the Boy Scouts so that I can complete the project over winter break.
I will be posting pictures soon!
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE DONATED OR OTHERWISE GAVE SUPPORT TO THIS PROJECT!!!!
About the Projects:
Hello, I am Jimmy Diggins. My brother Joe and I are both sophomores attending Norwell High School. We are Boy Scouts in Troop 192 of Norwell, Massachusetts. We are both working on earning the Eagle Scout rank. To earn Eagle Scout we need to do a service project that benefits an organization other than the Boy Scouts. The service projects we chose will be benefiting the Norwell Girls Youth Softball program. My project is to build a manual scoreboard for the Osborne Field. My brother's project is to build a shade structure for the field.
My brother and I both went through the Little League Baseball programs when we were younger. Seeing my sister go through the Softball program, we noticed that the Girls Softball program has a lot less than the Baseball programs. All the baseball fields in town have great things like electronic scoreboards, dugouts, stands, fences and more. The softball fields in town lack a lot of these things that make fields more enjoyable. So for our Eagle Scout servce projects, my brother and I have decided to help out the softball program by building a scoreboard and shade structures at Osborne Field.
