Dil Se Naach- A Brief History
Dil Se Naach is an initiative between East Carolina University’s Pirate Raas Team and Vibha-RDU in an effort to help underprivileged children. This will be our first annual Garba-Raas, Fusion, an Bhagnra dance competition in North Carolina. Vibha constantly thrives to open the doors for likeminded individuals, hence the birth of this competition. The Vibha family truly believes in and subscribes to this message. We believe that a small initiative taken by us can go a long way in helping underprivileged children fulfill their dreams.
Pirate Raas is East Carolina University’s one and only Indian folkdance team. Raas is traditional style of dance that engages audience through upbeat music and energetic moves. The team was established in May 2015, and has since traveled across NC and to VA and GA for various performances and dance competitions. The team has supported many philanthropies and on campus events like Social Justice Symposium, Toys for Tots, Tunnel of Oppression, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Interfaith Pirates, and more. This will be Pirate Raas’ first time working closely with Vibha, a non-profit, on a competition right here in Greenville NC!
Vibha-RDU will be hosting its first dance competition this year with tons of enthusiastic support from our volunteers and the community. We believe that going forward, the competition will grow to be the most recognized in the local communities in which Vibha operates. We hope that you will be part of our efforts in the years to come. This competition will be the most remembered and awaited for. We look forward to your support.
VIBHA - A Glimpse
What we do:
We seed, grow, and scale grass-roots ideas that can solve systemic problems related to the underprivileged children through a cure that involves minimal external intervention with large scale societal impact. Since our inception in 1991, Vibha has raised $13 million and supported more than 250 projects in India and 10 projects in the US. As a result, Vibha has been able to reach out to and provide opportunities for over 300,000 underprivileged children. Currently, Vibha supports 30 projects in India and 7 projects in the US. Vibha's vision is to ensure that every underprivileged child attains his or her right to education, health, and opportunity. Vibha's mission is to educate, empower, and enable every individual who wishes to make a positive difference in the life of the underprivileged child. Vibha brings together the combined skills and actions of volunteers, donors, social entrepreneurs, and NGOs to a common platform to find sustainable solutions to the problems faced by under-privileged children.
