DISH is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to contribute to the health, education and housing needs of people in Haiti after the tragic earthquake of January 12, 2010. DISH was created to help improve directly the lives of Haitian earthquake survivors. Our current focus is to raise money to build a medical center in the town of Dame Marie situated in southwestern part of the country (Departement de La Grande Anse). This center is to provide free medical care to the needy people living in the area. The medical center operation policu will encourage international healthcare providers to come to Haiti and volunteer on a regular basis. There will be different medical subspecialties in rotation in the center's clinics all year long based on the patient population needs.
The proposed medical services are as follow: Urgent care, Family practice, Internal medicine, Infectious diseases, with an emphasis on diagnosing and counseling about HIV/AIDS & STDs, Respiratory infection, Preventive medicine and immunization, Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy, Pediatrics, Women's health, monthly medical education seminar for healthcare providers on site.
