THE STORY:

Dynamic Indicators of Reading Expectations (DIREs)

DIREs are free for anyone to use via traditional pencil and paper format. All DICEs print access is contingent simply on use of the data in ways which are consistent with SASS' vision and with the Standards for Psychological and Educational Testing.

DIREs research goals include establishing international predictive benchmarks of performance as students progress from grade to grade over time around the world.

Publishers or distributors  of any curricula (sets of instructional materials) may sponsor custom DIREs users. Custom DIREs users, typically teachers, may create their own benchmarks and formative mastery checksfor any curricula or course of study for which they seek to evaluate or strengthen the efficacy of over time.
