THE STORY:

Gage Sara Huston wrote -

As many of you know, I have been a Big Brother for several years now and I have seen firsthand how important the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to Muscatine. What I find most compelling about the Big Brothers Big Sisters program is that it is aimed at stopping the cycle. As you can imagine, most of the children in this program come from some rough personal circumstances. This program provides positive role models to these children to help show them a better way. To give them a sense of self confidence. To help establish a strong work ethic. To help them prepare for a better future. Those of you that have been involved in community improvement know that the challenge is difficult. Many programs are geared toward helping to alleviate only the symptoms. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a program that helps get at the root cause and breaks the cycles that can hold a community back for decades. That is why I feel this organization is so important and why I am such a strong supporter. Bowl For Kids Sake is the main fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters and I have formed a team to help raise money.  Please take just a few minutes to follow the link below and check out my fundraising page.  If any part of my story or Big Brothers Big Sisters' mission strikes a chord with you, please make a donation to help further our mission.  I can personally assure you - as a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Advisory Committee - that every dollar donated to this organization is utilized to its fullest potential. Thank you, Gage Huston
