Disabilities In America
Organized by: Kevin Brown
As a recent graduate with a degree in video production, I have always felt everyone has a story to tell. Having been born with a disability has offered me a unique perspective about the many challenges those living with disabilities face on a daily basis. Knowing that I'm just one of the many millions of Americans with a disability, I am setting out to document the lives of other disabled Americans, hoping to shed light on what their experiences have been and what resources may be available to aid in their daily lives. It is my goal to eliminate the stigma placed on people with disabilities and show that they are just like their non-disabled counterparts and are deserving of equal opportunity.
GIven the fact that that I myself am disabled. I am limited in the amount of money I can set aside in order to keep my much needed health benefits. Unfortunately the equipment I would need for this project far exceeds the amount of money I am allowed to save. Your donations would go directly for the purchase of the required equipment (Camera, batteries, memory cards, microphones) as well as the necessary licenses to film. Being disabled comes with many challenges, but with your help we can bring light to the difficulties and work to change the lives of the many disabled Americans whose voices have gone unheard.
