Disabled ICU RN and young daughter to be homeless
Organized by: Johnilynn Mobley
EVENT DATE Apr 30, 2016
I have dedicated my life to saving the lives of others. I have worked as an RN in the Neuro-Trauma ICU, Special Needs Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology-Oncolgy, and Medical-Surgical ICU. I even wrote a book to help patients in the hospital. The book is titled, Patient Emowerment Guide and Journal. I became disabled working in the ICU in October 2014 when a patient caused small tears in my spine. I am in constant pain. My young daughter and I are going to be forced out of our home on 12, April, 2016. I have no money to pay a moving company or deposits on another home for my daughter. I am in the process of a divorce. I was ordered to pay all expenses to be able to stay in the home with my young daughter. The expenses total more than my monthly income. This month the increase was over $1,200.00 more than I make if I were to set the mandated $800.00 tax aside. That figure did not include groceries, my daughter's school lunches, my doctor visit, or fuel. I make close to $1,400 less per month than my husband now that I am on disability. I also will have to pay tax on my disability and we were unaware of that. I will have to pay the IRS several thousands in income tax. No one informed me of this and we thought that since I was only receiving about 40% of my previous income as a nurse that it was not taxed. I also get to pay the penalty for not making enough to afford health insurance. It always took my husband and me to be able to meet the monthly expenses. I now have to pay every expenses except his truck payment, his truck insurance, his phone, and 4 credit cards on disability. I do not have any money to hire another attorney. I desperately need to be able to hire an attorney or I fear that we will lose everything. That means we would have to live in a shelter and rehome our dog and cat that we have had for 20 years. I will owe an additional $8,000 to what I will need to secure another home for my daughter. I am afraid that my daughter and I will have no place to live soon. We need help in securing another home. As I mentioned, I gave my entire life to helping others. I pray that there are people that will help me and my little girl. God bless.
