I am a 55 year old Disabled Navy Veteran with a Traumatic Brain Injury and Severe Depression, sustained injuries that I received while on active duty in the US Naval Submarine Force during our First Desert Storm War; my monthly disability stipend is $836.13 for a 50% Disability Rating. I have submitted a plethora of additional forms to the Department of Veteran Affairs: Unemployability , Aid and Attendance, Notice of Disagreement, Update of all my Dependents; New Claim for my TBI with Chronic Headaches, and recently appointed a representative form the DAV to look over all my paperwork and expedite my claims, but as of today, the Department of Veterans Affairs has Denied all of the above claims. On April 30th I had Suicidal Indeations and wanted to kill my self because of my severe headaches in conjunction with my depression, but after several hours and a call to the Veterans Crisis Hot-line I was able to calm down; drive home and get to bed; the next day I had a meeting with my Psychologist at the VA Outpatient Clinic in New London, CT. I am now on a new Antidepressant, a total of 3 medications now, and going to weekly Counseling Sessions at Human Relations Counseling Service, 400 Bayonet St, Suite 202, New London,CT 06320, with James Longo, L.P.C. In which I am receiving Cognitive Behavioral Therapy weekly. On Thursday June 23, 2016 I was at the Department of Veteran Affairs Regional Office in Newington CT for Testing and Evaluation for the Vocational Rehabilitation Program, but unfortunately I was rejected for any type of schooling or training for employ-ability based on the severity of my disabilities and my instability, both Mentally and Physically. I spoke with Social Security today and they informed me that the estimated decision for my case will be September 15, 2016; but in the mean time I am in Financial Hardship trying to live on my monthly VA Disability of $836.13, as my Monthly Rent is $850.00, with nothing left for Utilities, Food, etc. I am respectively reaching out to you for your guidance and wisdom as I am in a state of Financial Hardship with the possibility of becoming Homeless with my limited monthly income; moreover, I have reached out to a plethora of organizations for help, but I have been unsuccessful. Please donate to my cause so I can remain in my residence and not end up on the streets of Connecticut.
