Please help Family and Children's Association give our valued veterans the services they deserve. Two of the many we help, Kevin and James, tell their stories in the video posted here. They’re retired veterans of the U.S. Marine Corps who live in our Veterans Residence in West Hempstead. They were injured while serving our country, and ended up homeless. They tell their story in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvmSpyYC_RM
We are a non-profit group that has been helping the needy for more than 125 years. We help almost 25,000 kids, families and seniors on Long Island turn their lives around every year and we love what we do.
Family & Children’s Association was able to get Kevin and James off the street and into a permanent home where they live with dignity with fellow veterans.
That’s just one way we reach out to the most vulnerable on Long Island – from runaway and homeless teens (our shelter is the only one between Manhattan and Montauk), to struggling families, at-risk youth, the working poor and vulnerable seniors.
We need your help to help more of these wonderful people who are going through rough patches. We don’t have the big budget of other charities to pay for expensive funding campaigns, so we’re going right to our neighbors in the communities we support, here on Long Island and across the country.
Even a $20 or $30 donation would help us keep our programs going, strengthening our families and communities. (And since we’re a 501(c)(3), it’s tax deductible for you!)
We appreciate your help. To learn more about our non-profit organization, please visit http://www.familyandchildrens.org.
