BENEFITING: LAST ORGANIC OUTPOST
EVENT DATE: Jan 01, 2014
Imagine taking something ordinary like a yellow school bus and turning it into something extraordinary like a veggie oil powered house on wheels. This is the dream! Driving around the country from Eco-village to Eco-village and organic farm to organic farm and First Nation Reservations. Participating and contributing to a new way of life. But even more than that, I want to show the world all the wonderful secrets of sustainable living.
Documenting all that I find to share with you by video blog, the ups the downs all of it. I will not hide anything. I will show you a different point of view. Exposing the trend and desire to live in union with our earth and human kind, and will show you how the best of the best Organic farms and Eco-villages do it as well as the simple homesteader.
I am asking for your help to make this dream a reality! Help me give a voice to amazing Eco- Friendly organizations across America. I will take you there and show you all the good America has to offer. to do that I need to raise $15,000, convert the bus, and it can all begin. Let’s band together and be a part of something big. I am so grateful for your participation and contribution to this cause. This is going to be a ride of a lifetime!
Hello, my name is David and it is my hope that you will help me and my 2 daughters on this incredible opportunity!!
We all know that sustainability and self-reliance are the keys to bright future here in America and the world, but how much do you know about the many hundreds if not thousands of communities popping up all over the U.S.?
Well we would love to find them, volunteer at the farms, homesteads and Eco-Villages around the U.S. and bring their messages to you on video!!
Doesn't that sound like a great idea? I know right???
This is how the funding breaks down:
Bus - $4,000
TT&L - $300
Veggie Oil Conversion - $2,000
Interior living conversion - $4,000
Digital Video Camera and Hard Drives - $500
This leaves us $4200 for spare tires and anything else we may need to become road worthy!!
Growing up I was the kid that built dirt castles in the back yard, I would find fallen branches and make tiny log cabins to house the action figures I held dear, I would piece together odds and ends of scrap lumber I found in the garage. By the time I turned 12 I was off and building houses with my uncles. I now have 26 years’ experience as a conventional home builder with 5 of those years as a natural builder (Cob, Straw Bale, and Adobe) and 4 as an organic farmer. I love building with my hands and now specialize in recycled and repurposed building.
This trip I have dreamed of doing since I was a child, now at 41 the opportunity has presented itself once again and this time I have realized I must do something worthwhile for my children and the sustainable movement!! I am a very hard worker and can’t wait to get this started!!
This adventure, traveling in a bus across the US, is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It will be an incredible growing experience for both me and my girls. Life is so short what better way to go through it then driving around exploring the world and learning all the hidden treasures humanity has discovered. I have my girls for the summer and they are so excited as am I for this opportunity!!
My children are everything to me and I want to show them the world along the way, they will have opportunities I could have only dreamed of at their ages!!
