THE STORY:

Grandmother needs help. Pam has spent her entire life, selflessly, giving and taking care of others. Pam has lived a hard life, left to raise 3 children by herself, after being abandoned by their father many years ago. Pam embraced the challenge, determined to not have her own children fall prey to the same fate of being shuffled off to foster homes, like herself not even knowing who her own parents were. Pam juggled and worked any odd jobs she could, and relied on the faith of God to pull them through. Pam is now in another stage of her life facing an even more challenging set of survival circumstances. Pam's life was turned upside down and the floor beneath her disappeared when she became displaced when her son and single father lost his job, then home and became members of the growing "Homeless sector" Pam had been a full-time Granny/Nanny and was able to survive by donating her minimum social security check, around the clock care taking in return for shelter, food and necessary incidentals. Pam spent almost two years hopping from one friend to another for extended stays and picking up the occasional care taker stint that offered housing as a benefit. As these options no longer presented themselves, compounded by worsening lower back issues, Pam was forced to find refuge whereby her total of $900 monthly, government subsidy had its best chance to endure. Pam left Orange County and was able to, by the grace of God and from word of mouth, be directed to a condemned trailer, without heat in Northern California. With a rent that absorbs the better part of $500 per month, Utilities, food and incidentals sometimes have to wait. A thoughtful neighbor gave her a small 1970's coil heater to use, but unfortunately she was burned by it while sleeping. These are just some of the daily challenges, and difficulties that come as a part of these living conditions and area. A few months ago, someone stole the aluminum ramp (presumably for "aluminum-scrap value"), leaving an open crawl space, which has allowed wild animals to use as an egress and regress access, making underneath the trailer, their new home! Although Pam does have a prepaid cell phone, the immediate reception is non existent, without traveling a mile. Being without without a car or any means of transportation, adds to the challenge. It is very difficult for her living such a long distance from her grandchildren and you as grandparents know just how much love and adoration they bring into ones life and this is a real hardship on her. Pam is a wonderful Christian woman that prays daily, giving thanks for the many blessings she has, no matter how small. Pam would be overwhelmed with joy if any donations came her way to give her an opportunity for a better life and an opportunity to be closer to her grandchildren. Pam has no assistance from family members. Pam is in need of so many things, from groceries, incidentals, as well as financial assistance. Anything your heart or budget can afford, would be answers to prayers. Thank you so much for any help in any way shape or form. May God Bless You
