This year we're raising money for Amelia. Amelia came into Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida 2 years ago after her owner turned her over to the local shelter. She is a beautiful yellow “pocket” Lab, being smaller than the average Labrador. At the time we got her, so much damage had been done to her eyes due to glaucoma, that her left eye had to be removed due to her eye bulging so badly and the pain that she was in. Since then, she has had a cataract in her right eye, and is slowly going blind. She has the spunk and tenacity of a puppy, and the curiosity of a cat, because nothing keeps her down. At her foster’s home, she has learned how to swim with the big boys and she still chases the tennis ball as if she could see it clearly. Amelia loves all people despite her early treatment, and gets along well with other dogs. Amelia wants to fall in love with a family who has a special place in their heart for a dog that can “see” how special they are!
More on our annual campaign: LRROF's Friends and Family campaign is our annual campaign of reaching out to our friends, family and co-workers and asking them to donate generously to our campaigns. LRROF volunteers work hard each and every day to save the lives of over 700 dogs per year with Lab Rescue -- but this time, we're asking each and every one of our friends, family members and co-workers to show us how much our hard work means to them thru the power of donation. $10 can.. pay for a vaccination $100 can.. pay for a full office visit with vaccinations $150 can.. pay for a spay/neuter $250 can.. pay for a heartworm treatment] $500 or more could pay for a life threatening surgery!
