The Arts & Business Council of New York offers the Diversity in Arts Leadership (DIAL) internship program for the 25th year in 2017. DIAL is an investment in building a more equitable arts management field. The program has placed more than 230 students from across the country into over 110 arts nonprofit organizations in NYC to develop leadership in the business of the arts. DIAL provides college students working towards careers in the arts or business sectors with a hands-on introduction to arts nonprofits in New York City. The Arts & Business Council of New York matches undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds with energetic host arts organizations and business mentors, who guide students’ personal and professional growth throughout the summer. Arts management interns are carefully chosen from a competitive nationwide pool of students and granted, paid, full-time, ten-week-long internships at multidisciplinary arts organizations. To ensure an immersive and well-rounded experience, the summer includes: Full time work placement at a New York City arts nonprofit Summer stipend and transportation cards Weekly group site visits to all intern host sites Monthly professional development workshops and cultural outings A private sector mentor
