BENEFITING: National Council for Adoption
EVENT DATE: Nov 01, 2017
In honor of November being National Adoption Awareness Month, I'm hosting this fundraiser for the National Council For Adoption, to which all proceeds raised on this page will be donated.
Adoption has always been a cause very near & dear to my heart. My life personally changed the moment my biological parents passed away in a car accident in India, an accident which I survived, leaving me an orphan. Fortunately for me, I was blessed to have been adopted by an amazing couple in America who gave me a life that a little girl in my position could only have dreamed of. Millions of children are orphaned every year with nowhere to go. For me, my biology is not defined by my DNA, but rather by who raised me. People always ask me "Who are your real parents?" My answer? My Mom & Dad are my real parents, period. My essential goal in life is to not just spread awareness about adoption, but the stigmas & mentality that surrounds it, especially within the South Asian community.
The NCFA is an organization that has been passionately committed to the belief that every child deserves to thrive in a nurturing, permanent family. Their mission is to meet the diverse needs of children, birth parents, adopted individuals, adoptive families, and all those touched by adoption through global advocacy, education, research, legislative action, and collaboration.
Any contribution in helping me reach this goal would mean absolutely everything to me! Let's together make a difference this National Adoption Awarness Month.
