DL Couch is all about advocacy and inspiration. What better way to demonstrate this vision than to extend that vision to the life of a child. Our goal is to walk our talk beyond our business strategies to give back to the world community through advocacy for children by starting team DL Couch Threads that donates to GO Threads, started by GO Project. GO Project mobilizes local churches in some of the poorest areas on earth to care for orphaned and vulnerable children in their communities…children of last resort with no viable means of care. GO Project, which currently facilitates care for orphaned and abandoned children in 15 countries, started GO Threads to help support the children in GO Project homes and the surrounding communities, as well as to create jobs and generate economic activity in these poverty-ridden areas. GO Project sets up sewing centers. The local workers stand ready to produce school uniforms and other clothing items. GO Project becomes an anchor customer. You donate to buy uniforms at $20 each through GO Project. The combined effort of so many of you allows GO Threads to send LARGE purchase orders to the sewing centers. They are able to buy cloth in bulk, make the clothes, and provide them to children in orphan care and other local children living in rags. With the help, cash flow, and championing of all of us as anchor partners, the local sewing centers then go after other business from other local customers who can buy. Without all of us, little local sewing centers wouldn’t attain the economies of scale required to compete with giant sewing mills. Now they can, because they can count on us, we become an advocate for them.
D.L. Couch would like to invite any of you that would like to participate, to join with us in this advocacy for children through this project. You can link to GO Project and GO Threads from our project page under who is benefiting and the event.
