Alpha Sigma Alpha's Dodge Your ASA Off for Girls on the Run 2017
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2017
Alpha Sigma Alpha has strived to make a difference in our surrounding community since we colonized at Drexel 91 years ago. One of our local philanthropies is Philadelphia’s Girls on the Run, which is a national physical and developmental program for young girls between 3rd and 8th grades. The mission of this organization is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The program focuses on teaching young girls confidence, responsibility, empowerment, and diversity.
Along with learning these values, girls participating in Girls on the Run will train weekly for a 5k in which they will compete in at the end of their session. Overall, Girls on the Run believes that every girl can embrace who she is, can define who she wants to be, can rise to any challenge, and can change the world. Our goal this year is to raise 7,000 dollars for GOTR. To help us achieve this goal, we will be holding our 3rd annual Dodge Your ASA Off on November 4th. Teams of 5 will compete in a bracket style dodgeball tournament and the loser of each game will get slimed! The winning team will get tickets to some sort of Philadelphia sporting event. At this event there will also be chances to slime an ASA sister of your choosing and many raffle prizes!
