BENEFITING: WARRIOR CANINE CONNECTION
One dog can help 60-70 Veterans ....amazing! Please help us help them. Dog is Good firmly believes in the circle of giving around "people helping dogs who help people".
Dog is Good founders and co-owners, Jon and Gila Kurtz, feel strongly about supporting those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Jon proudly served in the United States Navy for 27 years and Gila had the honor of joining him on the journey as his spouse.
To raise funds and awareness for Warrior Canine Connection, Jon and Gila are challenging themselves physically by doing "The Murph" event on Memorial Weekend. This workout routine was designed by Navy Seal LT. Michael P. Murphy, who sacrificed his life fighting to preserve our freedoms. This intense workout involves the following physical elements: 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and ends with another 1 mile run ( all of which must be completed within an hour). Everyone is faced with challenges at times but if you have the right mindset you can succeed at anything. If you look for ways to make a difference, you experience life on a greater scale.
Dog is Good enthusiastically support the mission of Warrior Canine Connection, which utilizes a Mission Based Trauma Recovery model to help recovering Warriors reconnect with life, their families, their communities, and each other. By interacting with the dogs as they move from puppy-hood to training to adult service dogs, Warrior Trainers benefit from a physiological and psychological animal-human connection. As a result of their efforts, Veterans with disabilities receive the finest in trained service dogs.
