When I was 7 years old, I came up with the idea to create an event to give dogs something fun to do. I called it the Dog Olympics. I planned challenges, awards and with some help from my mom, invited all the dogs I knew.
It was fun and made me feel proud. I decided to do it again in 2014 and raise money to help service dogs through the American Cancer Society. 30 dogs registered with their people and we had so much fun. There was even a costume contest! My goal was to raise $700 and I raised $1,400. I couldn't believe it.
We're doing it all again on Saturday, July 25, 2015. The big event will be held at Moores Park from 9 a.m. until noon.
You can register your dog by creating your own fundraising page and joining our campaign. I only ask that you raise $25 per person/canine team to participate.
On your page, introduce your dog and yourself. I'd love to see photos! Include your dog's weight and breed because this year, we may compete via class.
For example: I'll be competing with Lucille "Lucy" Torok and she weighs 10 lbs.

See you at the #DogOlympics2015!
PS - We will be kicking off this year's event with a memorial at dusk on Friday, July 24th. In honor of all the pets and people we've lost to cancer.
