BENEFITING: Ric O'Barry's Dolphin Project, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Aug 30, 2015
My name is Jessica. I am 13 years old and I live in New York. I found out about the Dolphin Project a year ago through social media. I started out loving captive dolphin facilities like SeaWorld, but I eventually learned the truth. I read Behind the Dolphin’s Smile (best book ever!) and watched the documentary: The Cove (a must see); they changed my life ever since. I now use Instagram to be an activist for dolphins in captivity and for giving updates about the infamous “Cove” in Japan where dolphins are hunted and slaughtered or sold to aquariums.
This year, I am having my Bat Mitzvah and for my community service project, I am organizing a fundraiser called “Dogs for Dolphins.” Everyone is welcome to come – with our without a dog. We will start with a walk on a trail through the beautiful vineyard and then enjoy lunch, activities, raffles and wine.
It will take place on August 30th, 2015 at Baiting Hollow Vineyard, Long Island from 11am to 1pm. Please consider making a donation to help me reach my goal of $750, or joining me at my Dogs for Dolphins fundraiser.
