Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating paternal bonds.
The United States of America celebrate it on the third Sunday of June however; this year in the Dominican Republic Father’s Day is celebrated on Sunday the 29th of July, 2012.
As many of you know, Father’s Day is one of the most forgotten days of the year and is often passed by unnoticed. The Micro Chamber of Commerce colleagues believe that the efforts and sacrifices that men make for their families and patriots, are worthy of admiration and recognition. Men provide daily for the welfare of their families while women run the household and their hard work and contributions help sustain the Dominican Republic.
For this annual fundraising event, our goal is to recognize influential fathers whom have impacted the community in various areas such as; education, entertainment, community service and leadership and after much consideration, and we’ve decided to pay homage to 5 fathers throughout the New York City.
One mission is to invest in students with our youth education and entrepreneur program. This is the first year and we would like to gain your support.
The event will feature live music, Hispanic cuisines, special guests, and a scholarship raffle to benefit a family of 2 with scholarship in the Dominican Republic. A portion of the income will benefit 2 high school/college student in New York and the Dominican Republic. Your support can also be place an ad in the journal or buy a table for $400.00
We love to hear from you, before July 15, 2012.
