Dominic Mauro Fundraiser
Organized by: Andy Willetts
Department of Public Works employee, Dominic Mauro, was diagnosed with a rare form of untreatable cancer almost 7 years ago. Dominic has been a dedicated Troy employee since he was hired in December of 1992. His commitment to the city and forward thinking approach to public service are admired by both co-workers and supervisors. Although Dominic continued to work after his diagnosis, for the past 2 years he has stepped away from the DPW to focus on his health. His enthusiasm and work ethic have been profoundly missed in this time. Despite his diagnosis, Dominic is determined to stay active and positive. He walks 5-10 miles a day and enjoys spending time with his wife, Kim, and two children, Jake and Steve. He makes time to fish, hunt, travel, and be outdoors as much as possible. He truly feels that avoiding a stagnant lifestyle has contributed to his ability to continue doing the things he loves. We are raising money with the hope that we can provide some financial support for Dominic and his family. As you can imagine, it can be challenging for someone battling cancer to also carry the burden of the financial concerns brought on by this illness. We are asking that you contribute anything you can to provide Dominic and his family with encouragement and support during this challenging time.
