I am setting up this fundraising project for my cousins, Donald Hughes, Kimmy Hughes, and their daughter. Donnie is a firefighter with the West End Fire Department in Morganton, NOrth Carolina. He was responding to a fire call on February 22, 2011, when involved in a terrible accident in the fire truck. No others were injured! He was transported to Grace Hospital in Morganton, and then airliofted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. He is currently there, now, as of March 3rd. Donnie had many critical injuries, the most severe being spinal cord trauma. He has been told by his medical staff that he only has a 5% chance of ever walking again. It is unknown at this time how long he will be in the hospital. I am asking everyone to give $5, $10, $20, $30, $50, $100, $125...or whatever amount you can to help Donnie's wife, my cousin, Kimmy Hughes to travel back and forth to Charlotte, begin planning for his needs at their home, therapies, meals, and whatever else they need to thrive, recover, and turn this tragedy into an instrument of God's power and glory!
