Help the Lassiter High School Marching Band get to the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade by sponsoring a mile toward their trip to Pasadena.
The Lassiter High School Marching band is honored to be invited to participate in the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade! The cost for our coast to coast trip for over 200 students and staff will be over $600,000. Now, that's a lot of money, but if we break it down by the mile, it's only $140/mile! With your help, we can do this! It would mean the world to us if you would donate a mile or two. If that's not possible, please consider a donation of ANY amount to help relieve the financial burden to all of our families and students who have worked so hard to earn this achievement.

More than 200 hardworking, dedicated high school band students in Atlanta, GA have been invited to participate in America’s century old celebration – a festival of flowers, music, and sports, unequaled anywhere else in the world. A greeting to the world on the first day of the year, and a salute to the love of pageantry… The 2019 TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADE!
These students are members of the Lassiter High School Marching Band, an organization committed to excellence, and the pursuit of the best version of each individual member by holding in high esteem values such as discipline, work ethic, integrity, and teamwork. It is because of these values that the Lassiter Band is one of only 13 bands to have earned this honor of an invitation to participate in the Tournament of Roses Parade.
For each and every one of our students to participate in this once in a lifetime experience, the total cost will exceed $600,000. In addition to airfare, hotels, meals, transportation in Pasadena for our students and staff, we must also pay for a semi-truck with two drivers to make the six-day trip to haul all of our equipment and instruments from Atlanta to Pasadena and back again.
For many families on our team, this cost is quite substantial, and for some, such as single-parent families, or families with more than one child participating in the band program, this cost is downright insurmountable. Furthermore, the expenses of this trip are in addition to annual fees families pay to participate in the regular band program to bridge the gap between what the county funds and the actual cost for the band program.
As a team whose performance relies on each and every member, we do not want a single team member to be left behind. If unable to participate in this amazing pinnacle of marching band experience and world renowned New Year’s Day celebration, there will be no second chance.
To help all of our families relieve this financial burden, we are working hard conducting fundraisers and engaging community support. Unfortunately, it won’t be enough. Don’t let the story end here for these admirable kids. With your support, every member of our team will gain the opportunity to be an inspiration to future students in our program. When funding is made possible for our entire team to participate in this event, they will return home with memories that will last a lifetime. Memories that each one of them can share throughout their lives to encourage and remind others of the rewards that can be in store for those who work hard to achieve excellence.
