In India, each year about 180,000 children are born with Congenital Heart Disease. About 80% of these children die without seeing a specialist.
What can we do? Along with a lot of cool and kindhearted people, I'm raising money to help poor kids with Heart Disease in India. All the money raised will go to Hrudaya - Cure a Little Heart Foundation. Hrudaya provides treatment and access to modern medical care for underprivileged children with congenital and acquired heart diseases. In return for all your generosity, Sri will climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the World in Oct 2015. #Kili4Kids
Why? Because every Kid deserves to live a full life.
Who is invited to donate? Friends (BFFs, GFs, BFs, Kinda-sorta-friends, not-in-touch-friends), Family(dead and alive but mostly alive), Coworkers (all 25 species), and everyone else on the planet. Yes, even your pet :)
#CrowdRiseMotto: IYDGBNOWLY - If you don't give back no one will like you
I'm not sure how much to donate?
For the next three months, try to give up something you've been thinking for a while and donate the money to this cause. If you know that you can save a kid's life by giving up something, wouldn't you do it? You can:
Give up coffee
Get a cheaper Haircut
Give up movies
Give up one expensive meal a month
I will give up my typical birthday(sep 17th - don't forget to wish me) shopping ($50) + give up one haircut ($15) + no movies and pop corn for three months ($51 at $17 a month). That's exactly $116.00. You see how I reverse engineered it ;)
I did donate. What do I do next?
You can create a team with in the fundraiser and start saving kids' lives.
Spread the word, talk to your nearest and dearest who can't say no to your face. Literally, this is how I started ;) :D
You can post a comment showing off your math skills like I did above or write something positive, inspiring and endearing or well go back to your boring routine...
