ORGANIZER: Donate Life Connecticut
EVENT DATE: Oct 13, 2012
Hi! I'm Maddy, I'm 13 and I am a freshman at Immaculate High School in Danbury, CT. When I was 10 my uncle received his much needed liver transplant after many years of waiting. Since then my family has been very much invloved with Donate Life and American Liver Foundation. This is my first attempt on a half marathon. I am running with my dad and uncle to raise awarness for the need of organ donors and to show my support for those families that have had a loved one with an illness affecting a vital organ, or has lost one. Good luck with your training and the run.

Did you know 1 organ and tissue donor can SAVE and IMPROVE the lives of 75 people?
Donate Life Connecticut is dedicated to increasing the number of registered organ and tissue donors through outreach and education. Our organization is Volunteer driven...people that have received an organ/tissue transplant, donor families whose loved ones gave the gift of life, living donors, friends and family. We are all passionate about sharing our stories and raising awareness.
Right here in Connecticut more than 1,260 men, women and children wait for a life-saving transplant...and more than 114,000 Americans wait nationwide. Unfortunately, 18 people will die every day simply because an organ did not come in time. We want to change these statistics. More registered donors means more transplants...MORE LIVES SAVED.
