In March, 2 months after Carol's diagnosis, she and Jeff walked 11.5 miles of the Celebrate Life Half Marathon. Celebrate Life raises money to help families living with cancer cover daily expenses like food and transportation. Even at a time where most people might be seeking help, Carol was looking for ways to help others. Of course she walked it in "Carol Style" wearing her horns to match her Warrior Spirit. She continued to wear her horns to her treatments so she could keep that Warrior Spirit going. Carol did lot lose a battle with cancer. She fought and succeeded in keeping a positive spirit throughout her entire diagnosis. She was always an amazing and supportive friend. Carol was someone who would offer a hand before you could even ask. For all of us who were lucky enough to know Carol, I know we are looking for some way to honor her. In lieu of flowers she requested that donations be made to the Celebrate Life charity and the Hudson Valley Humane Society. This link is for Celebrate Life. I can imagine Carol, wherever she may be, on her Harley, eating a bowl of ice cream, while of course wearing her horns, saying "WHO BOUGHT THE FLOWERS!? I thought we told them to donate that money to a good cause."
