We're racing to save lives in Zambia . . literally. The sooner we can donate an ambulance cart (a.k.a. Zambulance), the sooner people can reach potentially life-saving medical help.
Team ZamRace is currently training hard for the Camarillo Duathlon (Camarillo, CA 4/14/13) and the Safari Park Half Marathon (San Diego, CA 5/5/13), and our goal is to raise awareness of the mission of Zambikes U.S.A. to get ambulance carts where they are most needed in rural Africa.
Imagine living where response time to get medical help isn't measured in minutes, but is instead measured in hours. What if you called your neighbor to take an injured child for medical help and they showed up with a bicycle or ox cart. This is the stark reality for people in many parts of Africa.
If we can get at least one ambulance cart to the people who can use it, then we can hopefully sleep better knowing that somewhere, someone is able to live a life that may not have otherwise been possible.
Please consider helping us whether through donation, joining us for a race, or spreading the word. By the way, our "racing" team is for the slow and fast alike. If you've never run a race but would like to, if you're cool or socially awkward, or if you just want to do something to help another human but don't know where to begin, this might be the place to start.
P.S. You could also wear one of these awesome jerseys!
