Donegal Moves via Crowdrise
May 28, 2014
EVENT DATE: Jun 13, 2014
One out of three children in America is considered overweight or obese. Although the fight against obesity has hit schools, Donegal High School has created a unique method to fight the issue within the district.
Donegal Moves is a program initiated to unify the community and promote and encourage people to incorporate health and wellness activities into their daily life. The focal point of the program allows each student, faculty, and staff member to go for a walk during the school day. The 2.5 mile walk serves as an opportunity to make exercise a social event.
Success of the event is measured by the stories and memories shared by students as they reminisce on their experiences.
The purpose of our fundraising goal is to provide each member of our high school community with a t-shirt to commemorate the experience. This shirt will serve as a reminder of the experience and as an ongoing advertisement to move.
