Donicia's trip to Indonesia
Organized by: Donicia Brown
EVENT DATE Jul 20, 2015
As a little girl, I dreamed of one day becoming like Mother Teresa. I wanted to be selfless and help others. I want to still want to save the world. I want to live in a place that values people over ambition. I believe that if we see people hurting, or people who are unable to stand up for themselves that we should help. I would want someone to help me. Unfortunately, the world's children are often the population who suffers without the ability to survive on their own. I love children with all of my heart and it breaks my heart to know that there are so many children who are hurting all over the world.
My team and I will be participating in a mission trip to serve in the jungles of West Kalimantan, Indonesia this summer, July 20 – July 30, 2015. This area is without any electricity or running water or many of the amenities that we as Americans have become so used to. We will be providing up-to-date mathematics and English courses, childhood and family development, and resources for continuing housing, medical care, and education for orphaned children. We will also be sharing our ideas for a self-sustainable future. We will minister to them in a variety of ways and hear the stories of God’s work in their lives and get to share parts of our own stories.
I am looking forward to this adventure and being able to show God's love to the beautiful people of Indonesia. I know that I will learn much more from them than I could ever teach them. I want to look back on my life and know that I did something to make the world better. I want to change the world! Will you help me?
Thanks for your support!
