Only a few days left to compete in the national Saving Pets Challenge! Currently, there are over 165 animals in the care of DCHS. They are relying on donations likes yours in order to find new forever, loving, homes.
Every year, hundreds of needy cats and dogs find their way to the Door County Humane Society. Under the shelter of our roof each one receives the most comprehensive and compassionate care we can give them. It is a big job. It is a hard job. And it is a job filled with countless moments of joy and delight as we watch our animals find physical healing, emotional healing, and loving forever homes.
2016 is a year of big dreams and big action for DCHS and YOU can be a part of it! For the second year in a row we are competing in the Saving Pets Challenge! Last year DCHS came in thirteenth place and raised almost $38,000. This year we want to end in the top 5, raise over $50,000, and once again give Door County Humane Society bragging rights! Every penny we raise will go directly to the care of our cats and dogs, but it gets better. The top five winners will each receive bonus prizes--including a top prize of $50,000. YOU can get us there and with your support we will:
- Ensure that our regular operations are strong. This means: spay/neuter, vaccinations, worming/flea/tick treatment, and microchipping for every adoptable animal; a dedicated staff that cares for the animals 365 days a year; and a clean and beautiful facility for our animals and our visitors.
- Partner with local vets to offer three low-cost spay/neuter clinics for outdoor cats in Door County.
- Begin to equip our vet room to offer more and better medical care to our animals--including an operating theater to do spay and neuter surgery onsite.
Together with you, we can make the world a safe, healthy and loving place for the homeless cats and dogs of Door County. We are up against hundreds of other organizations, many of which are much larger than DCHS. With your support, we can win this thing—and that would mean a $50,000 bonus prize for DCHS! So donate, spread the word, and let’s once again put the Door County Humane Society on the nation's radar!
