BENEFITING: Somaly Mam Foundation
EVENT DATE: Feb 12, 2012
From the Project Organizer, Cheryl Wong:
For my birthday this year, rather than buying me things, I'd prefer that my friends and family help me do something that is deeply meaningful to me, and that is to help save young girls from a life of exploitation and rape.
Join me on February 12, Sunday, 3:00-6:00pm at the Stonewall Inn on 53 Christopher Street in Manhattan. There will definitely be games and prizes and fun. Maybe even birthday cake.
Bring cash, if you can, or if you're low on cash, just bring yourself, as I'd love to see you. All money raised from this event will go to three anti-human trafficking organizations, all targeted at sparing little girls and women from daily rape and abuse though rescue and education efforts. These three organizations are the Somaly Mam foundation, Apne Aap, and American Assistance for Cambodia.
You've clicked on the page I set up for the Somaly Mam Foundation. My goal is to raise $300 for this organization.
If you can make an online donation, not only will I be grateful to you, but you will help save a little girl or woman from horrific abuse.
If you can come to the party, you'll also get to meet some nice people and have some fun as well. This is a good cause. So, I really hope you can join me for this event and bring a friend.
