BENEFITING: HUMANITY WITHOUT BORDERS
EVENT DATE: May 15, 2016
I've always been a runner. As long as I can remember. Running is a form of meditation and clarity . It places things in perspective and cleanses my mind, body and soul from negative to creative and building thoughts. I am taking my passion for running to the next level by running a 50 miles Uberendurance race. I'm doing it to challenge myself physically and mentally as well as bring awareness to a worthy cause I strongly believe in. Helping many other children along the way to embrace their future and their life by the gift of sight. But I cannot do this alone. Your support and encouragement will help me make this possible. I'm using this run to support the sight saving work done by the Layton Rahmatullah Benevolent Trust (LRBT), which is the largest provider of free eye care in Pakistan treating 36 % of all eye patients who visit hospitals. LRBT has till date treated more than 30 million patients. LRBT provides free sight-saving eye care to the 18.7 million people that are blind or visually impaired in Pakistan, of which 2.6 million are children. Around 3 million patients are expected to visit LRBT’s 19 hospitals & 55 clinics in 2015/16. Eighty-percent of these people are needlessly blind and can see again with a simple cataract operation costing between $28.00-$80.00. I believe everyone should have an opportunity to see life clearly. Imagine not being able to see clearly. That would be far more challenging than any 50 mile run and many other challenges. Every blink is precious and I want to help others see through the remarkable work done by LRBT. I hope you will support me in my run and charitable work. I may be one but with your generous support, we will achieve this goal. It all begins from the heart in believing, doing and moving forward. The Friends of LRBT USA in collaboration with Humanity Without Borders support LRBT’s services by raising funds. Thank you with gratitude.
