I was planning to run the Jazz Half Marathon for my own fitness and personal sense of accomplishment, but shortly after I signed up for it, the Boston Marathon was bombed, changing the way runners look at races forever. I don't buy it. The only way the bombers (and those like them) gain power over us is if we change the way we live our lives. The best way to fight back is to band together and help one another.
In that spirit, I will match any donation you make (up to a total of $1,000 because I'm not made of money) on this page with an equal amount to onefundboston.org, which is the fund set up by the Boston mayor and Massachusetts governor to benefit the victims of the bombing. Donations on this page go to the cancer program at New Orleans Children's Hospital.
So if you want to help, donate here and contribute to two great causes!
