BENEFITING: Discover Outdoors Foundation
Dear Friends and Family,
As you know, I enjoy spending as much time as I can outdoors and my opportunities are almost unlimited. However, not everyone is so fortunate and, for many people, experiencing the physical and emotional benefits of being surrounded by nature is just not an option.
I have become very involved with the Discover Outdoors Foundation, a not-for-profit dedicated to giving at-risk school children in New York City opportunities to get outdoors and experience an array of physical activities and related educational programs. Numerous studies have proven the link between both physical activity and exposure to the outdoors to improved physical and mental health, better performance in school and lower rates of behavioral problems.
I am using my nearly 500 mile hike through the Alps (from Geneva to Nice) this summer to bring attention to Discover Outdoors Foundation and its mission, and I hope that you will consider supporting this outstanding cause.
