How do we explain why we need your donations to send Tara and Dov with the kids to Italy and Israel? We used to feel there was time to put this together whenever we got around to it but now it seems there is that urgency telling us that time is short and Dov’s days are becoming fewer. He was diagnosed 6 years ago with colon cancer. Major surgeries filled these years, 6,000 hours of chemo, radiation, and pain. He still fights yet the tumors fight just as hard. He has fought with strength and fierceness and never acting with selfishness. He is one who spends his time fundraising for the Huntsman Cancer Center and for fellow cancer patients. He speaks with love for the families suffering the loss of loved ones. He has shown humor and irreverence in understanding the monsters growing within him and he has never turned his back on those who need him. Dov, dressed as a Thanksgiving Turkey or the Valentine Cupid, visits cancer patients who are bound together by suffering with treats, kind words, and compassion. He has been invited to Stand UP 2 Cancer, opened for the Beach Boys, and tucked his babies in bed with stories and hugs. He needs to hold his children’s hands and show them places that are important to he and Tara: where Siena got her name and an understanding for their Jewish heritage.
Acknowledging the need to ask also means that we as family must acknowledge that Dov’s journey here is ending, his time here is disappearing too fast, he won’t be with us and it breaks our hearts. Yet, we as a family are asking. Please donate whatever you can to bless this family with the memories of life and our gratitude will be yours forever.
