Our lives were enriched the day our beautiful granddaughter Adelene Joy was birthed. We did not know she had Down Syndrome until the Dr. wanted to order a genetic test. And he refused to release her from the hospital because her heart didn't sound quite right. That was the beginning of our journey with a child who has Down Syndrome and all I can say is, we wouldn't change one thing about that precious little girl. She was named correctly as she has brought all of us incredible joy and laughter. She lights up the room when she enters. She is a very happy child and loves people although she will stare at strangers until she decides whether they are alright. If you get to be in her circle of love, you're wowed! She is beautiful inside and out, loves to eat and play, sleeps like a champ, and loves to learn new things. She works very hard with her therapists. Her physical therapist told her speech therapist before she met Ada, "Your going to love her". And she does.
